You have worked with so many specialists in your child's lifetime. I hear you. However, I’m not here to add more pressure on you. I’m certainly not here to pick on things you’re doing and not doing.
Think of me as a supportive ally with knowledge in education and trauma-informed practices.
I will guide you, inspire you, and get you started in the direction you have always wanted to go.
“You have a really soothing presence – it was really easy to talk with you. You were really prepared for the call and had some ideas already for when we talked. Getting all of the great website suggestions and activity ideas really helped me finalize my plan and feel more confident in my new teacher role.“
~ Sara Carbaugh, Homeschooling mom
We all need help at one time or another because we cannot do everything.
As a parent, you are busy and tired and lack time to do the research yourself. When you need cleaning help, you hire a cleaning crew. When you need help fixing the car, you hire a mechanic. When you need a haircut, you visit a hairstylist.
When the days are long and tough, and your well has run dry, you can get individualized support for your child.
I am not a search engine. There are plenty of resources out there. I am someone who will listen to your specific concerns and give you strategies to best meet the needs of your child and family.
Also, by having a real live person to talk with will help make you accountable for the tips and tricks you’re given. How many times have you bookmarked an idea and never returned to it? That won’t happen if you have recommendations for your specific situation.
“I found my consultation with you to be very valuable. You are direct, stay on topic and summarized everything clearly in the follow up package. I feel much more confident teaching problem solving. I feel I have an authentic ‘plan of attack.’
~ Jasmin Gibbons, homeschooling mom of 2
I have 16+ years of experience in the classroom with large groups of children and one-on-one interventions, and over 28 years of experience in the field of education.
I have professional experience with a wide variety of diagnoses. I have personal experience with my own child, who is disabled and is also homeschooled.
I am also a trauma-informed specialist, which means I come to you with ideas and strategies causing no additional harm while helping you uncover any underlying reasons for your child's difficulties with learning.
I have always had a heart for children with diverse needs, and my research in providing the best quality education continues even today.
My mission is to help families find the right educational solutions for a peaceful home.
“I am more informed on alternatives to worksheets and feel better able to look at the development of my children as a whole.”
~ Chantal, mom of 2

“I love the way you present the information. It appeals to my sensibilities the way it’s organized, short, to the point, practical.”
~ Beth Phillips, homeschooling mom of 4, blogger and founder of Being Home and PA Homeschool Law

Here is my cancellation/rescheduling policy: If you have scheduled an appointment and can’t make it, you can reschedule it the same way you booked it even if you decide to cancel. The details of this policy will be in your Welcome Package (sent to you at the time of booking).
“I thought the whole process was very professional. Your advice was what I needed. I have been applying it and have found it very helpful.”
~ Shanta Allard, homeschooling mom of 2
