Community Guidelines and Commitments

Community Guidelines and Commitments

Welcome to our community. Here, we foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for all members. Guided by trauma-informed principles, we aim to create a space where everyone can learn, share, and grow together.

The following guidelines reflect our commitment to these values:

1. Our Beliefs

We believe in the inherent worth of every individual and strive to create a space that acknowledges and supports this. As a trauma-informed community, we prioritize emotional safety, trust, and empowerment. This means we approach every interaction with sensitivity and understanding, recognizing that everyone’s experiences shape their behavior and responses.

2. Zero Tolerance for Discrimination

We have a strict no-tolerance policy for hate speech and discrimination. This includes, but is not limited to ableist, racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, or otherwise discriminatory remarks. Such actions will result in immediate removal from the group to ensure the safety and respect of all members.

3. Addressing Microaggressions and Harmful Comments

Microaggressions, tone policing, harmful comments, and bullying are not permitted. We understand that these behaviors can sometimes happen unintentionally. If they do, we will address them privately to foster awareness and reconciliation. The individuals involved will be contacted to discuss and resolve the issue constructively.

4. LGBTQIA2+ Friendly

Our community is LGBTQIA2+ friendly. We welcome and support individuals of all gender identities and sexual orientations. We recognize that some families may have differing views due to religious beliefs, but our commitment to inclusivity and respect for all members remains steadfast.

5. Valuing Diversity

We celebrate diversity and recognize each member’s unique experiences. Please avoid making assumptions about others’ backgrounds, abilities, or experiences. Embrace the richness that different perspectives bring to our community.

6. Being an Ally

We commit to supporting and uplifting marginalized members of our community. Being an ally means actively listening, learning, and advocating for those who face systemic barriers.

7. Confidentiality

Maintaining confidentiality is essential to our community’s trust and safety. Please do not share our discussions, resources, or personal information outside of this group. Respect the privacy of your fellow members and their children. When discussing your child, aim to speak in general terms to protect their privacy. While obtaining your child’s consent is ideal, we understand the need to share experiences to connect meaningfully in this setting. You can do this by focusing on general situations and feelings rather than specific medical or behavioral details.

8. Accessibility Statement

We acknowledge that meeting basic needs is fundamental to participating fully in our community. If you have any concerns or require assistance regarding basic needs or accommodations, please reach out. We are here to support one another in all aspects of well-being.

9. Reporting and Mediation

If you experience or witness harmful behavior, please report it to Gabriella directly before addressing the individual involved. This helps prevent escalation and ensures a fair and respectful resolution process.

10. Leading with Compassion

Approach every interaction with curiosity, kindness, and the assumption that others have the best intentions. We value authenticity and encourage everyone to participate with empathy and support for themselves and others.

Violations of these guidelines will be addressed swiftly and privately. Continuous non-compliance may result in removal from the community to uphold our commitment to a safe and respectful environment.

These guidelines will evolve as our community grows and learns. Your feedback is important to me. Please share your thoughts or suggestions to help improve our space.

Together, we can create a community that nurtures courage, vulnerability, and connection.
